Included in this zip file are experimental pellas. The first is an original lyric “Jazz Anno Domini” - a playful idea which asks an impossible question.
The second is a totally experimental idea. I used a random word generator and with the result attempt to sing the words (a whacked out notion). Also, Veni Creator Spiritus Chant (attributed to Charlemange) - recorded with the help of Radiotimes and the Bergamo Cathedral! Lyrics for Jazz Anno Domini: That Miller’s Tale Could it be sung By Peggy Lee or Jean Sablon? And if it were by Bass and Drum… Would it be something We could hum? If Mingus lived In Chaucer’s day What kind of music Would he play? Would Chanticleer and Reynard be Jazz clubs down in Canturbury? Oh could we all but rendezvous And troubadours strike stances new Hot Club Quintet and Duke Ellington But nothing’s new under the sun If Blue Note were The royal hue Would cool guys kick The other shoe Off to the left were heralds wait With contrapuntal sixteenth’s and eighth’s That Miller’s Tale Could it be sung By Peggy Lee or Jean Sablon? And if it were by Bass and Drum… Would it be something We could hum?
