v.1 there are beautiful people on every magazine cover, livin’ that good life, easy as you please. i bet it’s easy to smile like that, when the whole world’s at your knees. they make a ton of money, every time you turn around. if it’s all about exposure, let’s get some new magazines in town.

chorus i’d like to see a magazine for the unwed mother, and the homeless in your street, for the father of four who’s lost his job, and the child with nothing to eat. it’s not too late to change the world, but we’ve got to get a plan. we’ve got to pay a lot less attention to the beautiful people, and more to the invisible man.

v.2 lindsey’s wrecked the porsche again, paris is in jail, kate’s run out of heroin, and she’s skinny as a rail. you’d think they’d count their blessings, every single day, and show some respect for the average man, instead of pissing it all away.
