I have just spent a while reading the entire shebang of the DohHouse Riley Affaire dossier …. what an amazing collection of thoughts, ideas, ruffled feathers, misconstruances and mental ramblings! I must say I was amused and also surprised by some of the comments to your ideas. Just wanted you to know that I did read it all…and refrained from commenting (although I do have a good quote about what “Art” is - I may throw in as a 2 cents remark) -
I am with you on the validity of Presence and Performance over Pastiche - and my perception of the current format of mixing and sampling is that it but an extension of the Surrealist “Exquisite Corpse” concept. Regardless, it is often therapeutic to create and hear music, and would be a sad world with no music.
