Well that’s all fine and dandy, but what about lithium? Geez. Although it is so old that they don’t make commercials for it. Very funny and a little sad too. Gotta go though, Target’s calling, my scrips are ready….

there were so many to choose from…. and yes…it is intended to be sad - I envisioned an Irish wake and the dearly departed all laid out….but as a metaphor for all “drug” tragedies. |

Fabulous. I should just rec your stuff before I even listen to it. I can’t hang around long though, my droopy eyes recommend caffeine. :-)
Your social commentary is much appreciated. I note that a lot of these drugs (not all) are psychotropic and I wonder why we as a culture are afraid to just feel like shit every now and again. I mean maybe we have a reason that isn’t chemical for our moodiness, maybe, in fact, these “disorders” are what make us human after all. That being said, for the many many people who actually suffer from intense illnesses of the mind and body for whom these drugs and others are a godsend and represent an opportunity to be healthy (in mind or in body) I think the commentary is that we are very fortunate to live in a world where things can be helped and fixed. |

Dear essesq
I certainly do understand both sides of the situation. I chose however the darker side for an “art” statement. Often it seems there is such a layer of numbness in surface society and surely drugs have much to do with this. When my own mother passed away she was on a staggering amount of prescribed meds and I often wondered what possibly real psychological struggles her symptoms may have masked. As for “politically correct” or otherwise - is it not more important that one “feel” something and voice it than to be part of the fearful silent? |

Dear Anchor,
I agree wholeheartedly with your artistic decision and your sentiment, but as I wrote my comment I felt badly because of the people I know or have known who truly need and benefit from whatever drugs to function at all. I am aware of a number of people who experience the loss of their entire personalities in the taking of a medication to “fix” some “unwanted” emotion or behavior. A bit like trying to eradicate an unwanted plant, labeled a “weed,” which growing in a slightly different environment might be quite ok and even desirable. |

Anchor, what a great idea and execution! You know, we don_t have this advertising for those drugs in my country and so your work is some funny thing for me but also some serious in both ways.

Great concept, Anchor, and well executed. And yes, if all these are available by prescription only then why are they being advertised? Are we becoming a society of somnambulent psycho-SOMA-tic hypochondriacs “hollow eyed and high, dragging themselves thru the Negro streets at dawn in search of an angry fix”? I don’t recognize half of these (or more), but I’ll probably look ‘em up. Got a kick out of some of the FX applied to various ones. Tnx for heads up on this.

Well I blame it on old Moses. Once he took those tablets up the mountain there was no stopping him.
The Father of Pharmeceuticals no less!! Great idea for a mix but it doesn’t rhyme much!! |

Ohhhh… I get it…..take two of these and call me in the morning… (if you can climb down off that mountain and if your cell phone has reception) That has got to be one of the cleverest puns I’ve seen in a long time and it deserves a very seriously long gro-o-o-o-a-n….
Well done RT… a |

Great..The way and the effect on the voice that you use for singing are very good.
This idea remember me a song of “Jacques Dutronc”, called “Berceuse”. I think that this guy did the same observation than you, a few years ago, when it wasn’t yet a commercial business. |
