As for Chaucer, most of his stuff would be NSFW if kept true to spirit. He might well have rapped were he alive today, but then possibly have felt guilty about it later, or not since he’d have the option of living in a far more secular society. He’d probably be quite a hit on cable TV actually.

I think a lot of people could sing his stuff, have you ever tried, I wonder? I like your musings on this blending of cultures. I think the age we live in is not unlike the Middle Ages, we just want to believe it is :-).
