A unique composed mix of sounds, im not familiar with illbient, a form of electronic, ambient, down tempo fusion?…i did alot of electronic and ambient, but when you said love songs well how about da beats not every song has that also…its big on the beats here along with pop. Its good to hear song electronic DT,i don’t have that luv and that good to hear but makes me think. Even happy rainbows are cool…sure wish we would get some rain..to photo them rainbows!

To be honest, I don’t exactly have a strict definition either. Electronica roasted on the dark side. :) Thanks for your review. |

This has a nice mellow ‘smooth sailing’ feel to it that catches and holds right from the first note. I think the pads (or are they synth leads?) have a wee bit too much presence but other than that I like this a lot.

Right you are. I just listened to it again this morning on different headphones, and it’s a different experience. All sound levels should be tweaked. Ah well. That’s what happens when you put in about four hours’ worth of work. :) Thanks for your review - I appreciate it. |

Good sounds, some sonic surprises…and do I sense, perhaps, just a bit of irony?

This is the first time i heard about illbient.
I like the composition you made with the sounds, the contrast between acoustic and electronic stuff. For me, this happyhappyrainbows are a good trackback for a video, surely. Thanks for using blackrainbow. |

Well - don’t listen to me - wikipedia has a pretty good description which references a CD that set the stage for the wider public (“incursions in illbient”) and which I strongly recommend. I would have used more of your excellent sample if I had more time - and I know I ended up sort of bastardizing here. Maybe next time. :) Thanks for your comment. |

Man, I love this. It has such a unique vibe; in particular, I’m really enjoying the way the gated synths work. The guitar added some unexpected, but very satisfying, timbre and harmonic spice. Fantastic song here.

If I remember right you’re a Reason user too - there’s no real magic here - just a combination of a few Thor sounds with effects to get that pulsing sound. (For instance - I ran the jennyrave sample through a stutter-like combinator effect to create a backing rhythm). Thanks for your support - I appreciate it. |

Very very nice. It reminds me of your Fat Tuesday tracks. What’s the status on that?

Hahahah - damn you for bringing those up. :) Back in April I sat down over a few beers to critically listen through all of them and take notes, and I ended up with five pages of fixes/tweaks I’d like to do based on what I’ve learned since the last time around. It literally is the never-ending project. What can I say? :) Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate it. Except for bringing up Fat Tuesday. :) |

I love mixes that are melodic / experimental / ambient / imaginative / avant-garde / inspired / offbeat / individual / classy / tranquil / rhythmic and radiant. ‘Nuff said.

You were always good in composing this kind of tracks. Some sounds remind me of some of your earlier tracks. Subliminal already mentioned “fat tuesday” (I always loved this name, because (here)tuesdays are normaly one of the boring days in the week where nothing happens and even the tv programm is bad!!)
You once said that you see how I work with lovely rhodes chords and strings and so you do with rhodes and your crunchy and glitchy sounds embedded in a pad “bed”. Always nice to listen to! |

You’re actually quite right - the glitch, bass and pads are the type of things I always used to do - and I never had access to things like this beautiful acoustic guitar or the various new toys. :) Thanks for leaving a comment - I appreciate it. Oh, and I haven’t forgotten about our other thing. I promise. :) |

I really like this - especially the drums!:O)
That bass sound is great and whilst being right down at the bottom it still cuts through with great presence in the mix. Please share with me your settings for that! I’m not sure what genre this comes under but whatever its a mighty fine mix. (even without the drums!!) |

I thank you for uploading them. The world will never be the same. Re: bass - there is no real magic here. It’s a Reason Subtractor bass synth that I modified - has a low freq/mid resonance LP24 filter - and two waveforms (sawtooth and a more complex one - suitable for creating electric piano sounds). Hmm. Looking back at that paragraph I have to say it was utterly boring. Ah well. There’s a time for that too. :) Thanks for leaving a review. Much appreciated. |

FAT TUESDAY—there ya go there’s another mention to really get to you, keep in mind that that’s still well listened to ipod, not sure what you planning to do with it but im happy with what you did. I’m not going to mention the drums but the bass is lovely—just the bass mind you ;) I raise my glass to you again.

And I raise it right back atcha. Thanks for the review and the reference. I don’t know what I’m doing with that either, but I have a long list of fixes and changes which means that it’s unlikely to be completed this year. :) Let’s sit down for a beer and a proper catch up one of these days. |

warmly Jürgen - your compositions are very inspiring for me! Thanks Jürgen! I feel very much the same way about your music, so I appreciate the feedback coming from you. I was very lucky to find Pitx’s guitar sample - it brought a nice life to this track that it wouldn’t have had otherwise. Thanks again! |
