You’ve done it again. Great job. Love the way you shifted away from the atonality until in the second part there’s none at all except for the brief reference back to it at the end. Couldn’t be more pleased.

Thanks - glad you liked. In my head the second half only makes sense because of what happens in the first - and I tried to introduce change bit by bit to make the transition to what could be called synth pop easier to digest. :) Thanks again - really enjoyed the opportunity to work with your upload. |

Well, lovely Mikael, this is just extraordinarily clever of you. It took me a few seconds to get used to hearing ‘How Lucky I Am’ (surely one of Panu’s most endearing songs) in this setting, but soon I was hooked and really loving what you’ve done and the way it progresses. This mix is a happy one and has a wonderful offbeat sweetness. You and Speck work strange magic together. Thank you for including me in your spell. xxxx

Oh I’m glad you heard the happy in it. Not everyone will. Thanks for your continued support as I drag you along these darkly lit, bumpy roads. Speck’s material really adds a different dimension to my stuff - he creates these oddly shaped edges that nevertheless make strong musical sense and are just a treat to work with. And you know I love your voice, so that was an easy decision. :) |

smooth and silky - yet unusual - like some exotic fabric… a psychedelic Julie London-esque song floating over the aroma of hash smoke and spices…
that’s just my take of course. Like it allot! |

I’ll take your take any day. And I love the description and the Julie London reference. Thanks for the thumbs up - really glad you liked. |

The song’s atmosphere was like a film noir, set in the 30s, slowly seeping with colours — morphing into scenes of skyscrapers and electric night skies. Gee, it even makes my review sounds rather poetic, if I shameless say so myself! Nice one!

holy smokin’ mother of the christ child! (meant respectfully & sincerely)! you & Speck together are truly a force of nature. with all the skill at your disposal, to leave room at just the right place for the vocal to shine makes so much sense. this vocal from early in Cig’s portfolio still calls to me. really, an outstanding trio.

Now that does mean a lot - thanks. I had a couple of different version last night (as I was leisurely working through half a bottle of wine) that were the exact opposite of what you just described. My process tends to be to add layer after layer until it can’t take anymore, and then start to scale back until there’s some sort of balance. I’m becoming increasingly comfortable with throwing things out to leave room for space. Glad you agreed. |

It’s so refreshing to hear something where “atonal” doesn’t automatically mean “dark” or “frightening”. And where all the ingredients sit happily alongside each other, different but reflecting on each other. And the way the more poppy rhythm gradually builds momentum… in fact I can’t think of anything I don’t like! (who’s that fantastic singer??)

Haha - yes, whoever knows that singer and influenced her to join ccm certainly deserves a pint. :) Thank you. Very rewarding to read your description, because I could have used much of that in the “how I did it” section. I love dark moody tracks, but I just naturally gravitate to adding little melodic bits here and there to soften those soundscapes. Thanks also for the comment about transition. I spent a good amount of time on that. |

Like it a lot. The somewhat disturbing first half, which almost makes the lyrics sound cynical is beautifull (Ghosts-Japan, comes to mind) and the 2nd part with the mellow disco-ish elements smoothen you in a state of full acceptance of what just happened before. A pleasure for the eardrums.

Thank you for that, and I’m really, really glad you got the idea of the two separate parts. It happened more or less by chance, but once I got started working along the lines of two halves, it made more and more sense. At least in my head. :) Thanks for listening. |

Hey man - quite an interesting piece - Took a while for me to ‘get into’ and I wasn’t sure about the matching with the vox, but in the end I was riding the flow and realized that although the vocal fit isn’t as ‘melodic’ as what I’m used to (or tend to do) its a good fit. The standard of the backing is as always, top shelf.

Thanks for listening to it and for sticking with it. :) Although I am a bit torn about whether you should have to. Ah well. Re: vocals - you’re absolutely right. It’s not the most obvious of matches with this pella, but once it got in my head I couldn’t shake it. Thanks for leaving a review - much appreciate the feedback. |

Hmmmm…interesting. Almost hypnotic. As I’m late to the party I can safely say that this song has not recieved the credits or recommends it deserves because it’s very inventive without being difficult or arty. A very beautiful mix. One of your best in a while if you ask me.

Hahah - you went back to your previous profile picture. Just as I was getting used to the other one. :) Thank you very much for the kind words - I very much appreciate it. Glad you liked. This is not the sort of track that immediately appeals to most people, so I particularly appreciate the thumbs up. |

There is something sensuously sinister about this mix — the crespulent bt with Ciggi’s soft warm delivery — contrasts you put together to great effect.

Ahh now - I like that. Really agree about Ciggi’s delivery - it carries so much warmth and emotion. Thanks for the listen and for taking the time to comment. |

oh, what a strange song. I mean this in a completely positive way. A tremendous tension in the music. She seems to fall but she is taking the next step.
This is the best thing I have heard lately. The voice of Ciggy just wonderful. What a gift this song. My friend a true masterpiece! .. more .. more of them .. warmly Jürgen |

Speck’s music triggers a lot of ideas in me, and I really enjoy working with his music. Makes my job so much easier. Re: more tracks - not for a while, I think - I will take just a little time to work on a personal music project. Thanks again - really appreciate the support. |
