Well I love it of course! Just brilliant, contrasting my rather ‘good girl’ voice against a dark, brooding and fascinating b/t and mixing it up into something eerie and beguiling. Thank you for setting aside your SM project for a while in order to mix me. xxxx

Thank you kindly, my dear. This wouldn’t have worked without your lovely vocals, and I’m really glad you liked. It’s another tricky track, but it came out almost exactly the way I had hoped.

Got a really a cool sonic experience listening to this one. Not pretty in a classical way, but inventive and very energetic.

Thanks for that - this definitely started out as an experiment of sorts but then started showing more and more signs of being an actual track, so I went with it.

Glad you got something out of it, and thanks for taking the time to comment.

Got to scratch those itches. Yeah, this is trippier than what one might expect from you. And it works. With all that reverb and echo on the vocals they become an instrument. I’m hearing them as maybe a horn.

Yes - absolutely. There are three RV7k reverbs on the vocals. I used automation to vary the dry/wet balance throughout - but more to emphasize the sort of ambient sound effect of it than to ensure the individual words were easy to hear.

Glad you liked.

Thanks!

I saw you heard cdk’s version too - I wonder what it was about Ciggi’s vocals that inspired a more illbient mood than something more traditionally romantic - but I agree that’s a big part of her strength. :)

Thanks for the review and thumbs up - much appreciated.

Ciggi’s original had that good girl overtones, reminiscing that good old fling. Yours, on the other hand, had me picturing her sitting in a dark corner contemplating how to, er, make the ex-lover a eunuch! Which is to say you’ve got a damn good track here; one that nicely creates a vivid contrast to the original.

Thanks!

The “mission” groove was perfect for this - it really inspired the whole thing.

Glad you liked.

There seems to be a bit of an internal struggle in this tune. Like two brothers fighting cos one didn’t play by the rules. NICE!

That’s an excellent visual - I like that. :)

I wonder which two brothers, though. Tweedledum and Tweedledee, perhaps? :)

Well… you know I’m a big fan of the experimental glitchtronica style. You’ve dropped an ultra cool mashup and I just love the dirty bit crunched vybe.

Thanks Scott - much appreciated. I keep changing my mind about this one - I think the idea is strong but the sound is really weak. Keep thinking I’ll go back to fix it more but never end up finding the time. :)

Thanks for the listen.

The dark, industrial edge you created in this track works remarkably well — a taste of Portishead perhaps?

Thanks! I was a bit worried at times, because it started as a bit of a tech concepts and developed into a music idea, which is always risky. :)

I still find it tinny sounding but have no time to fix it. Ah well. Next time. :)

Thanks for the listen and for leaving a comment.
